An original oil on French linen by listed artist Robert Ludwig. The painting may be oriented either landscape or portrait orientation. It’s the largest painting we’ve ever acquired. It measures 74 x 52 inches without a frame. It was acquired at auction from the estate. The estate’s stamp is on the verso. The NY Central Art Supply (East Village) stretcher is in great condition. The canvas condition is excellent considering this work is from 1960. There are signs of handling. The edges are worn. Currently unframed.
Robert Ludwig (1924-2021, New York) received a BA from the University of Minnesota. Robert Ludwig has exhibited widely in group and solo shows. Carter Burden Gallery represents his work.
