Superb. Original mixed-media painting circa 1980 on handmade paper by Tom Fricano (1930-2020). 22 x 26 inches as framed in natural finish hardwood with non-reflective glass glazing — frame by APF Framemakers and Conservators as indicated by the label. The frame has a few hard-to-see scuffs that might polish out. Titled “Object Space 1” on the lower left and signed on the lower right.

Thomas Salvatore Fricano, painter, printmaker, sculptor, and teacher, received his MFA at the University of Illinois, Urbana in 1956. Fricano was a visiting artist at numerous colleges throughout the United States, including the Art institute of Chicago, and the Cranbrook Academy. His work is in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Seattle Art Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Library of Congress.
