OK people this is magnificent. An original pastel on board by Catherine Maude Nichols (British, 1847-1923). Signed front lower left “C.M. Nichols.” It is titled on the back in pencil “Moonlight Long Island Sound.” 9 x 13 inches. The condition is good considering its age. The fixative has darkened somewhat, but it does not detract from the image’s beauty because the image is already quite dark.
